Whether you’re visiting Bristol as a tourist or you are a local you will find that Bristol has an incredible array of activities on offer, Bristol is brimming over in history, science, nature and good old-fashioned fun.

If you are looking for a great day out for all the family, a romantic break or a little adventure you will find it on What’s on, we have tried our best to make sure that this section is not only exhaustive but downright exhausting!
Major events and family days out to look forward to in 2012 include the International Balloon Fiesta at Ashton Court on the 9-12th August, Brisfest Festival at Ashton Court on September 22nd and 23rd, St Paul’s Carnival on the 7th July, unfortunately the International Kite Festival isn’t taking place this year but will be back in 2013.
 
 

 
 

For that special experience why not relax and enjoy a glass of chilled champagne whilst enjoying a hot air balloon trip enjoying panoramic views over Bristol and Bath, other activities include driving a steam train, sampling off-road driving, then there’s Karting and Quad Biking, why not try your hand at Laser Tag?, or scuba diving, there’s Banger Racing and rock-climbing, swimming and even Clay Shooting.

Why not enjoy a golfing day at one of the many fantastic Golf Courses in the area or hire a bicycle and enjoy a bike ride on one of the many cycle tracks Bristol has to offer (did you know in 2008 Bristol was chosen as Britain’s first cycling city) if you prefer climb aboard, sit back and enjoy a relaxing river boat trip around Bristol’s famous harbourside. Bristol has earned a great reputation as an exciting and vibrant city where you can find many exhilarating activities offering action packed pursuits with some of the best venues on the doorstep with great nightlife to boot.
 
 
 
 

There is also a fantastic array of parks and of course the well known Durdham Downs to visit where you can enjoy the fresh air, take a picnic, have a kick about and it won’t cost a penny!
