The Bristol & Bath Railway Path
This is a 13 mile off road route between Bristol and Bath. The
path is open to walkers and cyclists with access for disabled users. The Path
is an integral commuting route, an attractive leisure path and an important
wildlife corridor.
The Path was constructed on the former Midland Railway track bed
which closed for passenger traffic at the end of the 1960s. Between 1979 and
1986, the railway line was converted into the Railway Path.
Some of the
former stations that were along the Path are still popular stopping points today.
