Puxton Park Secures The Italian Job
Local Family Will Launch Weston’s Latest Tourist Attraction.
The creative team behind top Somerset attraction Puxton Park have once again sealed their reputation as a brand that knows how to deliver quality, by securing the tender to build and run a multi-million pound restaurant & Ice cream parlour which will incorporate an interactive Tourist centre on Weston sea front.
After a lengthy negotiations, which saw rival bids from five other tenders (including several national brands), North Somerset Council announced today that the family run Adventure Park had clearly come up with the winning formula. The venture sees Puxton Park team up with Giulio Ellis of Guilio’s fame to build a lavish two storey rotunda that will command some of the best views the town has to offer on the former Tourist Information Centre which will be demolished to make way for the new site.
The partnership plans to open a Mediterranean restaurant that combines a fine Italian Pizzeria with the emphasis on locally sourced ingredients and also plans to specialize in fresh fish. Sitting alongside this will be a traditional Ice Cream parlour with the ice cream created in-house using the milk of the 350 strong organic Jersey herd housed at nearby Puxton.
Alistair Mead, Managing Director of Puxton Park said, "This exciting new venture will forge a fantastic new link between Puxton and the sea front and will provide local people and tourists with a fine restaurant and a state of the art tourist centre. With the imminent opening of several major attractions and so much regeneration there has never been a better time for local economy and investment".
No strangers to the area, the Mead family have farmed in the area for generations and employ over 150 people. The business partnership with Giulio Ellis is set to be the latest feather in their cap and will only add to Weston’s reputation as the leading tourist destination in the south-west.
