Hawkwood is beautiful in every season, and Winter brings its own character. We hope to see you soon. Our weekends include arts, crafts, music, spiritual development, mysteries, health & well being and creative expression. Some are suitable for CPD (continuing professional development). Hawkwood College, a registered charity, is a residential centre of learning in the beautiful and peaceful Cotswolds of England. Hawkwood also offers a friendly, residential facility for people who run their own courses, seminars and conferences.

Hawkwood is set in 42 acres of beautiful gardens, woods and fields, with its own spring water, and is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The college works with ecological and sustainable land management practices, using organic and biodynamic methods. The Hawkwood impulse springs from the work of Rudolf Steiner, founder of Anthroposophy, seeking to foster ways and means to a spiritual foundation of life.

 

 

Joys, passions, inspirations, challenges and growth - what better way to find these than through exploring your creativity in company and community with others. I never cease to wonder at those who work in inspiring ways with children and youth, in helping them find an interest and joy in learning about the wonders of the world around. It is another challenge but also reward to grasp our own personal development in adulthood, to explore ways of extending our learning and creative talents. When you sit down and write a poem or make a painting or work on something new, whatever it is, your heart beats, your thoughts and feelings are lifted, your step is lighter, you feel like you transcend the relentless stream of time. You are meeting and living in the moment. Something in you has just expanded, out of a mould, and truly will never be quite the same again. We have all experienced it, and we can work on it further. We can have similar experiences in conversations and dialogues with others, if we truly listen and share - a feeling of creating a space between, where something new can form and grow. And this is the world of adult education.
