At Bristol Zoo Gardens you can enjoy an amazing world of animals all set within 12 acres of award-winning gardens. Visitors will come face-to-face with over 400 species of exotic, endangered and adorable animals from the four corners of the globe.
Bristol Zoo offers 12 acres of beautiful botanic gardens, an adventure play area and even an aerial ropes course (restrictions and charges apply). If that’s not enough why not take in one of the daily animal shows, join an expert talk, or pit yourself against the best of the animal world with our popular Zoolympics trail?
During the summer months, the Zoo also becomes a fantastic backdrop for a variety of indoor and outdoor events.
Bristol Zoo Gardens opened in 1836 and is the fifth oldest Zoo in the world. During that time, Bristol Zoo has brought six generations of visitors closer to wildlife, helped save over 175 species from extinction through human care, established over 30 field conservation and research programmes all over the world, showed 40 million school aged children the value of nature for human society and have given more than 90 million visitors a wonderful day out.
