Follow us _on FacebookBefore taking up residency at Meadowcare we undertake an individual care plan that is tailored to the unique personal needs of your loved one. We will also undertake a risk assessment report and a details of their life history – both of which will involve family members as well as the resident themselves, to ensure that your loved ones needs are fully understood and we appreciate them as an individual.

Follow us _on TwitterEach resident will have a dedicated nurse and care worker assigned to them to ensure complete continuity of care. There will also be a single point of contact at the local GP’s surgery and we hold regular weekly in-house clinics with a local GP and other fully trained and qualified staff.

Activities
As part of our team of specialist staff we employ two activities co-ordinators. Their job is to provide both group and one to one activities sessions for the benefit of residents. Activities are conducted on a daily basis and are many and varied including the following:
  • Music sessions.
  • Art and crafts activities.
  • Gardening using our raised flowerbeds.
  • Hand massage.
  • Armchair exercise classes.
  • Accompanied local walks.
  • Social events throughout the year.
  • Discussion groups.
  • Personal grooming sessions including nails, hair and make-up.

Rooms
All our residents’ rooms are fully equipped to the highest standard possible. As well as being for sole occupancy, and with a full en-suite. Each room is also equipped with the following:
  • Full electric profiling adjustable bed
  • Bedside cabinet, over bed table and armchair
  • A wardrobe and a dressing table and chair
  • A flat screen digital TV
  • Telephone
  • A 24 hour nurse call system
  • Dining
Residents can enjoy home cooked food served in our spacious dining area which has views onto the patio area and garden. Our in-house chef provides the following:
  • A well balanced and varied menu that changes daily
  • All diets and personal food preferences can be catered for
  • All meals are freshly cooked and prepared in-house
  • If you are visiting at a meal time then you are more than welcome to enjoy a meal with your loved one
We encourage all our residents to eat in the dining room at all times – but if this is not possible then meals can be served in residents’ bedrooms.

Services
We recognise that our residents need more than just care during their stay with us so we offer them the following additional services:
  • Hairdressing
  • Chiropody
  • Visitors Meals
  • Visiting opticians
  • Dentistry
  • Physiotherapy
  • Newspapers and magazines
If a resident needs to attend either an hospital or out-patient appointment we can arrange for transport to and from the appointment. as well as providing a member of staff as an escort if required.

Note – the above services are charged at cost plus a small administration fee.
 
Fees
Our fee levels vary dependant on the amount and type of care required as well as the grade of room occupied. Fees will always be advised in writing and will generally be reviewed annually. We should point out that fees charged may change if the level of care and support is varied.

Our fees cover all accommodation costs as well as care costs and typically include the cost of the room, heating, light, food, laundry services (excluding dry cleaning or specialist care laundry services) and the provision of incontinence products. Residents who receive nursing care may be eligible to receive government funding towards the cost of their fees. Our resident home manager will be on hand to advise and assist you with any application.

Nursing care and assessment
We offer a free pre admission assessment for all our propsective residents prior to admission.

Individual care plans are tailored to the needs of each individual along with a risk assessment report and life history. Each resident or family member is asked to participate in the compilation and review of their care plan and risk assessment, life history.

Each resident has a dedicated nurse and key worker assigned to them. A single point of contact to a GP Surgery, with weekly planned clinics held in house with a GP and trained staff.

Our home has hoists and lifting aides on every floor for easy access.
