Travel Guide

There are two cures for itchy feet. The first involves a change of washing powder and the application of a non-chemical moisturizing cream and is even less fun than it sounds. The second involves a change of location and the application of factor15 moisturising cream, and is a lot more fun than it sounds.

Modern planes, trains and automobiles have developed to such an extent that old Phileas Fogg could win his bet in 8 days now rather than 80. The world is our oyster and weekend trips to Barcelona,Prague or Vienna are no longer pie-in-the-sky dreams. Far-flung visits East to sample the Orient, or a short skip and a jump to the West to take a bite of The Big Apple are equally well within your grasp.

Of course, you don't have to travel thousands of miles to take advantage of great locations. Our own shores have a variety of great day-trips and short break ventures form local ferry boats or waterway jaunts to stunning train journeys. Maybe you simply want to find out the best way to get from A to B or check out taxi services or minibus hires.

Take a look through our listings and rediscover the Christopher Columbus or Marco Polo hidden beneath your string vest. And if you don't know those two… think Michael Palin in sensible clothing.

And, whether it's from Rome or the Roman Spa in Bath don't forget to send us a postcard!
